Do you feel like your home office is too bland and minimal? Then take a look at how this project used office decor to make an aesthetic workspace.

In the heart of London’s Mayfair district, a commission to Child Studio was made to create a residence for a London-based hotelier and restaurateur, with inspiration taken from Yves Saint Laurent’s Grand Salon at Rue de Babylone in Paris, and one of the goals was to balance Art Deco references with 1960s and 70s Modernism, in order to create a truly mindblowing place.
The entire home is a splendid combination of emotions, such as relaxing comfort, warm serenity, amongst many others, although in this article, we will be focusing solely on the office, and how Che Huang and Alexy Kos, the designers for this project, managed to use office decor to draw out the office’s full potential in a beautiful fashion.
Office decor was used in multiple ways to bring out different emotions throughout the office, in an attempt to guarantee that the room would remain optimal for a productive workday, but also somewhere interesting and brimming with personality and essence. In other words, the goal was to create a fine line between functional, inspiring, and interesting

This office is much different from the average office that you would see in your average interior design project; it’s full of life and different elements that add plenty of character to the place, namely the impressive selection of office decor, paired with the room’s overall choice for earthy tones, which blend in beautifully with each other, creating an overwhelmingly serene environment all over the room.
The choice of simple, yet aesthetically pleasing chairs that provide comfort while retaining a professional vibe puts a higher emphasis on the room’s functionality and requirements, since it is a place that demands a good ambience that encourages creativity, focus, and productivity.
The office’s table has the optimal size it requires, featuring a beautifully minimalistic green lamp that serves not only as a piece of fashionable office decor, but also as a reliable light source, ready to enable late-night work sessions.

The office decor in this room is also very present in the bookshelf, which not only serves as a functional space to store books as it is designed to, but the two designers decided to take advantage of this space to place plenty of different pieces of decor, such as statues, pictures and sculptures, which all add to the elegant and educated vibe this office has going for it.
The sculptures are made of wood, and the ones that aren’t are colored with a light brown, which, paired with the brown and black picture frames, match the room’s overall earthy tones aesthetic quite well, making it feel coherent and all a part of a greater artpiece, where all the elements come together towards the same goal.
As we said before, this office isn’t meant to only be a simple, bland workspace, that serves no purpose beyond work; it’s meant to be both an inspirational workspace and a relaxing place where you can gaze into the office decor pieces, read one of the books on the shelf and overall, simply take a relaxing break in a cleverly designed, educated space.

The designers did the best job they possibly could to make the office fit in with the other rooms in this home, whether it was via using similar color palettes, complementary decor, and similar types of minimalist furniture, which we see throughout the home, namely in the living room and dining room sections of the home.
Looking into this particular angle of the office, it’s easy to tell that the main goal was to once again invest in different ways to make the office feel more cozy and inviting, as now, we can see a comfortable armchair has been put beside the main table, with a clear objective of providing further comfort for a break during work, paired with other pieces of office decor, such as the abstract painting on the wall, which fills the room with teven more personality than before.
With that, we completed our overview of this beautifully designed office in this Mayfair project, where comfort and productivity meet through the designer’s splendid usage of office decor, to create a dynamic approach to this home office.
