Summer’s here, and with it comes the barbecues and outdoor parties, so here are 5 of our best tips on how to update your outdoor dining space.

1-Use neutral tones
A trend we have seen gaining more and more influence in recent years has been the usage of neutral tones and minimalist furniture in interior design projects, so your outdoor dining area shouldn’t be any different.
Embracing neutral tones and minimalism gives a relaxing and soothing feel to any space they are in, so if you think that you need somewhere to relax after a pool party, and have a nice meal afterwards while talking to your guests, using a neutral color palette might be the way to go.
This outdoor dining area, in particular, is using a combination of grey and white furniture to bring that welcoming feel we want, combined with smooth lines and minimalist decor, which makes it all the more relaxing and inviting for everyone.

2-Use contrasting shapes
It’s no surprise that the usage of different shapes and sizes makes any space look much more lively and dynamic, meaning that your outdoor dining project can greatly take advantage of this.
Try mixing in soft, circular lines with sharper ones, like in the dining area we see above, where the center table is soft and smooth, which serves as a wonderful contrast to the sharper chairs and geometrical staircase.
In this example, the Prymo Dining Table helps bring a sense of fluidity and elegance to the outdoor dining space, making it feel comfy and welcoming to everyone, while looking extremely beautiful and aesthetically pleasing; yet the Cinco chairs make a great contrast with their sharper, more rectangular-like shapes and lines.
Overall, the contrast brings out the best aspects in this dining area stand out much more, turning this space into a much richer environment than most outdoor dining spaces.

3-Use natural elements
In order to counter the lifeless, cold aspects of the modern world and the big cities, a growing trend over the last couple of years in the world of interior design has been a return to nature and our roots, whether by placing natural elements in the decor such as plants and plant-like sculptures and art pieces, or by using color schemes that make us reminsce of nature.
In this outdoor dining space, we can see that the chairs have a light green color, while the oval table has a darker shade of green, pairing beautifully with the decorative plants that are beside the table.
Bringing out this natural feel to your outdoor dining area is something very easy to do, since all you need is a few pieces of green furniture, and/or a few natural decorative elements, so it’s definitely an option you should consider exploring!

4-Mix in Comfort with Elegance
A priority for most spaces in a home is to provide as much comfort as possible, so when designing an outdoor dining area, the furniture is normally the key to ensuring that the space is comfortable and appealing.
In this dining space, we see that the chairs have been chosen to match the overall classical aesthetic that surrounds them, pairing beautifully with neutral tones such as grey and white, keeping comfort as a priority always.
Even the fireplace is, in itself, elegant in its own way, yet it is also functional and ready to warm up any chilly night on this patio.

5-No need to be too flashy
Yet another trend that we have seen growing in the world of interior design is the usage of minimalist furniture and decor, which, in turn, makes our projects feel much more refined and simple.
We have briefly mentioned before how it could be used in an outdoor dining space, but in this particular use case, we can pinpoint its masterful use of earthy tones, simple, yet functional furniture, paired with smooth shapes and natural decor elements.
This dining area doesn’t shy away from making it feel as comfortable and soothing as it can, as you can tell from the cushioned chairs, light decor, and its facing to the pool.
With these tips in mind, your next outdoor dining project is bound to be a huge success among all of your guests.
